Waratah-Wynyard Council is responsible for Waratah Pioneer Cemetery.
In January 2010 it gave permission to
Friends of Waratah Pioneer Cemetery
be responsible for its upkeep in accordance with guidelines.

That the Council authorise the Friends of Waratah Pioneer Cemetery
to undertake maintenance works within the old Waratah cemetery
boundaries as may be approved by the General Manager or his delegate,
subject to all such work being carried out in accordance with the
directions of or under the supervision of the General Manager or his
delegate.
